Went for a short walk after the storm and it was so beautiful out there.

Nothing reveals the divine more genuinely than time spent in nature.

There is a personal and a universal unsconscious.
Turning awareness to the unconscious brings
understanding and freedom.

~ 11th Buddhist Psychology

Yes, mindfulness is a minute by minute awareness. I am not saying I do this with consistency… but I know I understand.

Sitting with loneliness

When I get lonely these days, I sit with it. When the feeling came in this morning while I was doing my regular morning walk, I sat on a child’s swing at the park and thought that I have to learn my way around loneliness, that I never have to depend on friends (who I don’t have much in this foreign land) or on another person’s body or emotions to fulfill my yearnings. I soon realized that it’s time for me to be my own friend and figure out what is missing and fix it. I meditated for a few moments and relief came soon. So, I moved on. I know it’s a common human experience, and for all those who often feel the same way… welcome!

In another note, I thought I might just be homesick but I do feel fine now and lighter. :D

on moving on

Because life is so short, we should increase our stride and move forward quickly. We cannot afford to go through life as if dragging through a swamp, confused, muddled, and indecisive: “The front foot has already firmly touched the ground, but the hind foot is still afraid to let go.”

Instead, it should be that “After one foot makes a step, the other foot moves forward.” This means that we should let go of yesterday’s events and concentrate on what has to be done today.

Happy Sunday!

more signs

Today’s sign is about the mountain lions, I always take a few moments to read signs ‘coz I believe it is important to know where we are going and what to expect on certain trails

and by practicing mindfulness and knowing, we are eliminating ignorance.

signs from yesterday
